GLOBAL EDUCATION

The Global Education Working Group consists of Hellenic Platform member representatives who have extensive experience in the fields of education (formal and non-formal). The objective of the groups is: a) lobbying at institutional level for a more recognized place of the education for global citizenship, b) the design of educational programs for implementation, c) networking and cooperation among the organisations, d) the collection and sharing of educational material for teachers and practitioners in the field of development education.

OPERATION – COOPERATION WITH CONCORD

The Global Education Working Group is represented in the Development Education, Awareness Raising (DEAR Forum) Working Group of CONCORD, which brings together practitioners and experts of Development Education, Awareness Raising (DEAR), Global learning and campaigning from most EU member states and a number of INGOs. The group meets bi-annually to establish common strategies to increase the impact of and support for Development Education and Awareness Raising activities in Europe. The Forum has a steering group and five subgroups: Advocacy, Formal Education, Quality & Impact, Youth & Children and Communication. The Development Education Working Group works mainly through internet, whereas meetings take place in respect to the needs and the availability of the group members.
